Attractive to butterflies, Echinacea Sombrero ‘Salsa Red’ Coneflower is also a magnet for important pollinators and beneficial insects. The flower heads provide visual winter interest and are an important food source for birds.

The Sombrero series is a new introduction bred to produce well-branched, sturdy and compact plants featuring a high bud count.

Echinacea Sombrero ‘Baja Burgundy’ Coneflower is a garden superstar with its compact, well branched habit and prolific blooms. This splendid coneflower selection features deep burgundy petals surrounding a large brown cone. These vibrant daisy like flowers bloom freely from mid-summer to frost and are easy to grow plants tolerant of drought, heat, humidity and poor soil. This petite perennial is a splendid choice for borders and does equally well in the container garden. Sombrero also makes an excellent cut flower.

The Sombrero series is a new introduction bred to produce well-branched, sturdy and compact plants featuring a high bud count.

Echinacea is a North American native in the Daisy family. They are well loved for their large, showy flowers that bloom generously throughout the summer. Echinacea are easy-to-grow plants that are adaptable to a wide variety of growing conditions as they are tolerant of drought, heat, humidity and poor soil. These hardy plants are impervious to most pests and diseases making them a perfect trouble free addition to any garden!

Coneflowers are excellent choices for a wide variety of garden applications including butterfly and pollinator gardens, or the meadow and wildflower garden.

The flowers can be used in cut flower bouquets as well as dried flower arrangements.

This perennial plant is 1-3′ tall, branching occasionally to frequently. The light green stems are glabrous and bluntly 4-angled, but they are not conspicuously winged. The leaves are sessile or they clasp the stems; petioles are absent. Leaf bases are round to slightly cordate, while their tips are slender and pointed.
